Majority of People Prescribed Antidepressants Have No Mental Disorders, Clinical Study Says
Pop Punk legends Nofx may have out done themselves with their new music video on Funny or Die, titled Oxy Moronic.
In the tune the punk trio exposes the hypocrisy behind our very over medicated American population.
A study published in the Journal of Clinical Psychiatry shows majority of people on antidepressants have no mental disorders.
“Among anti-depressant users, 69% never met criteria for major depressive disorder (MDD),” claims researchers.
Even more startling the study published that “38% never met criteria for MDD, obsessive-compulsive disorder, panic disorder, social phobia, or generalized anxiety disorder in their lifetime.”
The study was reviewed by the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. The document concluded that:
“Many individuals who are prescribed and use antidepressant medications may not have met criteria for mental disorders,” they concluded. “Our data indicate that antidepressants are commonly used in the absence of clear evidence-based indications.”
As a doctor writes a prescription, the pharmaceutical company writes him a check. Meaning doctors are paid per prescription as reported by the New York Times. Could doctors be prescribing patients incorrectly to collect a paycheck?
They will tell you depression hurts, but have they told you antidepressants can kill?
Some of the side effects of antidepressant use include:
- Violent Thoughts
- Violent Actions
- Suicidal Thoughts
- Criminal Behavior
