Amazon Launches First Grab-N-Go Store With No Lines, No Checkouts, No Registers

Self-Serve Retail Stores May be the Shopping Environment of the Future

Kristan T. Harris | American Intelligence Report

Amazon has launched a new concept store they’re calling Amazon Go. The trailer claims you will be able to  just walk into the store, scan your cellphone, grab your items and go without waiting in a lengthy checkout line. This concept is a leap in retail evolution from the popular self-checkout

“What is we could weave the most advanced machine learning computer vision and AI into the very fabric of the store so you never have to wait in line. Non lines. No Checkouts. No Registers. Welcome to Amazon Go.”

The Seattle Times reports that “the tech giant has built a convenience store in downtown Seattle that deploys a gaggle of technologies similar to those used in self-driving cars to allow shoppers to come in, grab items and walk out without going through a register.”

Goodbye retail sales person. The age of Internet self education is here. Amazon is moving quickly to automate their services and reduce their main cost, labor. Check out their concept video below.
